Karol Beffa studied at the École normale supérieure, where he has taught since 2004. As a pianist, he regularly improvises for the public, and his oeuvre as a composer has been interpreted by renowned artists and performed throughout the world. Beffa is the author of György Ligeti (Fayard, 2016), L’Autre XXe siècle musical (Buchet-Chastel, 2022), En avant la musique ! Maurice Ravel (Équateurs, 2025), and a dozen more musicological works.
